Random Snaps Post #3

The following photos are taken from our rooftop. I don't know but just recently, I got fascinated with clouds. Especially when I was able to watch consecutive lightning from afar. The lightning was actually behind clouds, I don't know how to explain it, it's just too magical, though a bit frightening of course.  Anyway here are some of my unedited shots :P

My shots are quite blurred. Oh well, it's because i'm just using a digital camera. Huhu.

Anyway, let me share a trivia ( I still haven't verified), they said that orange clouds reflect how polluted the environment is.

Dear Captain America

While it is pouring outside and all I've been waiting for since the moment I stood up is to crawl up on my bed again and put my pillow over my head, I decided to write a blog dedicated to you, Captain America.

I honestly don't know how to start since this is my first time to talk to you, and I guess I should have done it long ago. Nevertheless, I know it's not too late, so allow me to write all the things lingering on my mind. I would also want to share that this is totally unplanned, I am just a little bit stirred or shaken with our earlier discussion in school.

Let me start by asking you the same question that most people are trying to both ask and answer.

With what is happening with Manila and Beijing right now, will you, Captain America fight with us  and serve as our superhero if this David vs Goliath war transpire?

Since 1951 you and my country is already having this so-called Mutual Defense Treaty saying that both nations would support each other if either us or you were to be attacked by an external party. (Just a question: What help can we bring to you? We don't have a weapon as powerful as your indestructible shield is.)

With such treaty then you are obliged to help us legally and politically. But i believe not just in those aspects, for you are also obliged to help us morally. We all know that the world is watching, and as Captain America as you are, you may not afford to just watch my country being wiped out by Captain China. (Yes, there is an existing Captain China) Just imagine how the world will going to condemn you if you allow such unbearable thing to happen without dipping your finger on it. (PS. You and Syria is another story)

One reason to consider also is that Captain China is a communist one, and you Captain America is no less than playing the role of the defender of democratic countries. Again, you may not afford to see your fellow democratic country being rammed helplessly.

On the other side, you might, by all means, still say no.

Taking this from one of my professors, he said that you are here not for us but for yourself. And with that let me also share a quote from someone, saying that there are no permanent friends, only permanent interests. Undoubtedly, you will always protect yours above all. To interject what I learned in school, a country's foreign policy will always be for the promotion and protection of such country's national interest.

So directly speaking, there is a big possibility that at the end of the day, it will only be just us, pathetically defending ourselves against the awakened giant.

I don't know when you are going to answer my question, but please answer me using conditional sentences for I won't ever wish to have war just to see if you're there or not.

For the mean time, let me first enjoy my remaining night hours with my bed :)

Sincerely,
Desh, one of your so-called allies.

*This is my first open letter post :)

Rather than War

http://www.newclearvision.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/war-peace-tree1.jpg

Unceasing conflicts, struggles, disputes and clashes
He who lived in the past had experienced such.

Persisting fear dwelling inside humankind
For there is just one answer to every strife
And that is no less than to have a ruthless war.

Endless bloodshed in every nation, in every state
Killing millions of people in such unforgivable haste.

The Battle of Marathon, Battle of Salamis, and Defeat of Spanish Armada
The Seven Years, Thirty Years, and Hundred Years War
Some that defined our history but left a haunting scar.

Every king had always vied for power
Putting everything at risk in whatever manner.

Then it became evident why there’s no tranquility
Those warring states lack a certain defining facility
And that is no more than the practice of diplomacy.

Emissaries, nuncios, attachés and diplomats
Sent on some special missions, duties and whatnots.

While diplomacy finds such accepted solutions
It goes beyond settlement of contentions
Giving us a world of a more peaceful condition.

That is the picture of what the world was
And it is pretty obvious what should last.

Over costly and horrifying bloodbath
There is this another way of resolving a combat
And that is plainly having talks rather than war.
